Gary Dungan has declared his candidacy for assessor of Jefferson County. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the race.
"Due to his expertise, Dungan said the Federal Reserve Board sought him out to help resolve the savings and loan crisis during the late 1980s and 1990s by serving with the Resolution Trust Corporation, a temporary government agency established by Congress to resolve the crisis."

Republicans have a strong chance of taking many local, state, and federal offices this year. It is imperative that we join together and make a concerted push toward limited government! The Democrats have controlled West Virginia for over 80 years. The citizens need to clear out the dark, smoke-filled rooms of the status quo and take a deep breath of freedom.

The newly created 66th district for the W.Va. House of Delegates spans the southern portion of Jefferson County. This article in the Hagerstown Herald-Mail describes why Paul Espinosa would like to fill that seat.
“I believe Jefferson County needs a strong, fiscally conservative representative for the 66th district,” Espinosa said in a news release. “I’m confident I can effectively represent the 66th District and serve as an advocate on issues we care about, including economic development, first-rate schools, greater government accountability and transparency, and controlling government spending.”

I am very pleased to announce that one of Jefferson County's own, Patrick Morrisey, has announced his intention to unseat incumbent Democrat Darrell McGraw as West Virginia's next Attorney General. Morrisey is strongly qualified and would return accountability to this office (in addition to challenging Obamacare unlike McGraw).
Facebook users can "like" the Morrisey for Attorney General page to keep abreast of this vital campaign.

Republican James Ruland, a local businessman and decorated Vietnam War veteran, is challenging state Sen. Herb Snyder, a three-term incumbent Democrat, for his 16th District seat in the West Virginia State Senate. Ruland and Snyder are former Jefferson County Commission members. Snyder served from 1991 to 1996, Ruland from 1996 to 2002.
Ruland said: “Regrettably, West Virginia exhibits all these same disturbing problems. Debts mount and more are proposed. Our state population has been declining for decades, yet the size of state government grows ever larger.”

Make every effort to attend this rally tomorrow (Saturday, January 28, 2012)! There will be some surprise announcements of strongly qualified conservatives for office on this last day to register for elections!
Come find out the latest news and meet the candidates first-hand. Previously announced Republican candidates for various local and state races will also be in attendance. This is your chance to give support and express your thoughts!
Try to make both events if you can.
BERKELEY COUNTY: On the steps of the Berkeley County Courthouse at 11 a.m.
JEFFERSON COUNTY: On the side of the Jefferson County Courthouse by the steps at noon. This event will be followed by a free lunch (likely at the American Legion), courtesy of the candidates. There will be chili and hotdogs to warm everyone up!
Get ready and fired up for a critically important election in our beloved county and state. Hope to see you all there!
