JEFFERSON COUNTY
REPUBLICAN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (JCREC)

The ten member JCREC consists of one male and one female elected from each of the five magisterial districts in Jefferson County. The members are elected every four years as part of the primary ballot election. The county also elects one male and one female member each to the West Virginia State Executive Committee, the 2nd Congressional Executive Committee and the State 16th Senate Executive Committee.

The JCREC typically meets once a month on the second Saturday of the month. The State Executive Committee meets quarterly in pre-designated areas of the state (rotated around different state counties). The 2nd Congressional and 16th Senate Executive Committees convene only in rare circumstances.

The next scheduled election for these positions will occur in May of 2020 as part of the county’s regularly scheduled primary.

The ten member JCREC elects the county Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. The Treasurer and Secretary are not required to be elected in the primary but may be elected from the pool of county Republicans.
